Angèl Vardas - Artist
A little bit about me…
When I was a little girl, some of my earliest memories were of walking through the galleries of the Honolulu Academy of Arts with my Mom after school. My mother was always doing sketches and I would be right next to her drawing in my own little notebook. Growing up, my Mom would take me traveling with her and together we experienced the beauty and culture of many places, always with our sketchbooks in hand.
Those experiences inspired me to want to learn even more about all kinds of art, so after I graduated from high school, I moved to Boston, Massachusetts and went to art school. I was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree majoring in Studio Art, from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Tufts University.
After a couple of years traveling, I eventually found my way back home to Hawaii in 1999. It was then that I began mural painting and fine art commissions.
I love working with all kinds of people, from new mothers wanting to have something extra special painted in their baby’s bedroom, body piercing shops with paintings of sunken ships and hidden treasures, to interior designers and the Honolulu Academy of Arts gallery exhibitions. All of my clients collaborate, their ideas with mine to create just the perfect recipe for whatever their hearts desire, and minds dare to imagine.
